As of right now we don't have a trail planned for the month of December. I thought I might try to get some input on what people might like to do. December is usually a pretty busy month for most, so it doesn't have to be a big run. Maybe just a little day trip to Butcher Jones. Or maybe everone meeting at a restaurant for dinner and some B.S.ing. Let's get something planned. The members meeting is Mon. November 9th, it would be nice to get it ironed out by then (kind of short notice).

The December club run will be Bulldog Canyon on Saturday December 5th. We will meet at the Circle K just north of US 60 on Idaho Rd. @ 8:30. The run will depart @ 9:00. This is an easy, scenic trail. It will require 4 wheel drive, but a stock bronco should do just fine. It is a short run and shouldn't take more than about 4 hours.

And for everyone who has a heavy right foot there is some sand to play in toward the end of the trail.  Mitch and I did this run a couple of months ago and with the exception of it being really hot, it was a fun run

I am 99.9% sure you need an individual permit (which is free) for this area, obtainable at the Tonto National Forest offices. Bulldog Canyon is gated at its 3 access points, and you need a gate code.

Dave checked on that Kirk, and yes, anyone wanting to attend will need to stop by the Forest service office and get a permit. It is free and doesn't take 10 minutes to get. If anyone would like to do a different run, post it up. Depending on the numbers of people that want to attend, we could change the trail if need be. Input would be greatly appreciated. The Forest service office is near Higley and Mcdowell (I believe)

The local office of Tonto NF is at  5140 E. Ingram St. Mesa, Arizona 85205 Phone: (480) 610-3300   This is a little bit south of McKellips, and on the west side of Higley Road. BTW...Bulldog Canyon really is a neat desert area with nice views that is close to town but still has "an away from the city" feel.

Everyone,

FYI - All the Tonto Forest Service offices will be open this Friday, 11/27/2009, with normal business hours.

That's when I will be picking up my Bulldog pass.

No excuses.  Grin

Come out and play.

Cool Bill, I am sure that will take a load off your mind. It looks like we have had a couple non-members bow out of the Run tomorrow. We will still have plenty of participants for a great run though. I will post pictures of the run hopefully this weekend for those that were unable to attend.

We had a great run on Sat. There were a total of 10 vehicles, 7 early broncos, 1 full size bronco, and 2 4-runners. It was a good run for Dec. as we were off the trail and headed home by 1:30, so there was still time to put up x-mas lights. There will be a full write up and pictures in the December news letter which will be available on the website in a week or so. But I will post a couple of pictures, as a teaser.
